Eligibility

Seed funding is available for young entrepreneurs within North Essex.

They must live in one of the following districts: Braintree, Maldon, Tendring, Uttlesford, Epping Forest district councils, Colchester and Chelmsford city councils.

They must be between 16 and 30 years old at the time of application.

If under the age of 18, please note that a parent or guardian must complete the application on the young person’s behalf.

Application Process
Applications must be made online via the NEEB website.
Applicants must provide all the information required when submitting their application.
Applications will be assessed on behalf of the councils by the NEEB Young Entrepreneurs Working Group.
Once your online application is received we will acknowledge receipt of your grant application via an email which will contain a copy of the application form.
If you do not receive an email from us, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible to check your application has been received.
The applicant must give consent for NEEB to involve the business/young person in publicity e.g. press releases and photographs.
The applicant must not have any other outstanding debts payable to the council/s.

Deadline for applications
Total funding for this scheme will be £5,000.
Applications can be made until 30^th June 2025, or until such time all the funding is exhausted.
We recommend that you apply as early as possible as funding is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Repayment of funding
NEEB reserves the right to recover all or part of the funding it has provided if:

The applicant does not attend 2 markets within a 6 month period, from the date the seed funding is agreed
Information provided in the application form or other correspondence is found to be substantially incorrect, misleading, or incomplete
