Now entering its second year, NEEB Link continues to build on the strong foundations established last year, with an even greater focus on helping businesses across North Essex thrive, particularly those based in rural communities and harder-to-reach areas.

North Essex is home to a dynamic and diverse business community, shaped by entrepreneurs who are driving innovation and strengthening local supply chains. From early-stage start-ups to established, growing enterprises, businesses across the area are contributing to productivity, skills development, and sustainable economic growth.

2025 was a year of momentum, collaboration, and practical support for businesses across North Essex, with initiatives from the North Essex Economic Board (NEEB) playing a central role in building a stronger local business community.

NEEB Link has successfully delivered a practical and inspiring business start-up workshop to inmates at HMP Chelmsford who are due for imminent release, supporting rehabilitation through enterprise and self-employment.

The final session of NEEB’s Pitch to Convince programme brought together a cohort of founders who arrived with anticipation, nerves and no small amount of self-doubt — and left with something far more valuable: confidence, clarity and a strengthened sense of community.
