The North Essex Economic Board (NEEB) is a partnership of councils across mid- and North Essex, working together to make the area more prosperous for all. It is made up of Braintree, Maldon, Tendring, Uttlesford and Epping Forest district councils, Colchester and Chelmsford city councils, and Essex County Council.

As a group, NEEB is funding a number of projects across three broad areas to drive forward economic growth. This includes improving the skills of residents, supporting local businesses, and developing economic strategy to increase inward investment.

Let’s Do Business Group were commissioned to provide business support to businesses across Braintree Chelmsford, Colchester, Maldon, and Tendring. From topics such as starting up and accessing finance, to marketing and promotion, to improving productivity and digital skills, a variety of businesses have been supported by our team of experienced business advisors as well as attended a range of fully funded workshops and webinars.

From April 2023 to March 2024, there has been:

• 25 workshops held
• 159 businesses supported
• 27 new jobs created
• 22 jobs safeguarded
• 7 businesses created
