Essex County Council, Southend-on-Sea City Council and Thurrock Council are working together to launch the new Greater Essex Business Board.
We are seeking influential businesspeople to join the board as members. We are also inviting inspiring leaders to apply to become the Chair of the Board.
The board will represent the voice of the private sector and shape economic policy. Members will advise political decision makers and help Greater Essex to thrive.
The responsibilities of the Greater Essex Business Board will include:
• informing economic strategy
• making the region stand out, compete and attract investment
• shaping the local skills programme with the Essex Chambers of Commerce

Board members should have executive experience alongside a strong national and international network.
The board will meet four times a year to shape essential economic policies. They will work with partners from local authorities and other business forums.
Between meetings, board members will act as ambassadors for Greater Essex. They will influence their networks and feed business intelligence back to the board.
